The DOEACC curriculum has been scientifically designed to give the students a solid foundation in Information Technology. The one-year course comprises of two semesters that are further divided into four modules. The entire course is covered in more than 500 hours - divided evenly between lectures and laboratory. In addition, atleast 20 hours of inputs will be provided in the Personality Development and Pre-Placement training which gives a competitive edge to UPTEC students in the job market.

The DOEACC ‘O' level is a foundation - level computer course. This course is a part of 4-tier scheme of AICTE and Dept. of I.T., Govt. of India. It is recognized by the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Govt. of India which lends immense job-worthiness to the 'O' level. An 'O' level holder becomes eligible for jobs such as junior programmer, EDP assistant and web designer.

Subject to revision by DOEACC.
Successful students of the ‘O' level course, pursuing ‘A' level, will be exempted from M1-R4, M2-R4 and M3-R4 modules in the ‘A' level examinations.

Project Work

All students are required to undertake a project involving requirement analysis and implementation relating either to conversion of an existing manual procedure to computerised work or to extension/modification of an existing computer - based or internet - based application. A properly documented project report will have to be submitted.

The Final Examinations

These are conducted on a national basis by the DOEACC Society - the agency designated by Ministry of Communications & Information Technology, Government of India - twice in a year, in January and July. The students must complete the entire course in a maximum period of five years. The final examinations are supported by continuous internal evaluation.

Evaluation

The internal assessment of academic performance is based on the evaluation of the following:-

a) Seminars/Class Participation b) Project work c) Tests/quizes d) Final examinations.

The results are provided in the form of performance grades accordingly.

80% and above      Outstanding
70%-79%               Excellent
60%-69%               Good
50%-59%               Fair
<50%                     Fail

Guidelines for the admission test

Written test will be of two hours duration and will consist of questions covering areas such as basic Mathematical concepts, Analytical ability, Quantitative aptitude, Reasoning ability, comprehension and English language. The question paper will comprise four sections as follows.

Section-1 :	English language
Section-2 :	Mathematical concepts (10^th level)
Section-3 :	Analytical ability and Quantitative Aptitude
Section-4 :	English Comprehension

All Questions will be of multiple choice type with negative marking.
