BCCL buys stake in UPTEC
Bennett Coleman & Company Limited (BCCL) has aquired a stake in UPTEC Computer Consultancy Limited. The BCCL stake, a 15% of equity in the company would be instrumental in providing an impetus to the new online venture of the company which is expected to take UPTEC from being a regional player to a pan-india operation.
Onile Language Lab Launched
UPTEC has launched an online language lab (OLL) in collaboration with AURALOG of France, a leading organization in language learning solutions. OLL employs innovative e-learning technologies for teaching various foreign languages in like British & American English, Spanish, German, French, Italian and Dutch.
UPEC-OLL is first of its own kind facility. OLL is accepted globally as the best method for learning a foreign language. It finds a widespread international acceptance among organizations and employers. GMAT Test facility at UPTEC
Test facility for GMAT online test has been created at UPTEC Allahabad,
which has started functioning from January 2 2006. It is one of the eight
centres established by Pearson VUE in whole of the country. It will be a
unique facility for admission seekers in Universities of America, Australia,
European countries and also in top ranking Universities of India for
management programmes because GMAT score places them on merit and opens the
admission gates for them.
Yaksha chosen By Army Medical Core to conduct their Nursing Assessment Test
After a series of
demonstrations at Army Medical Core Centre and School, Lucknow UPTEC's
Yaksha Engine is on its way to achieve another milestone, by winning the
contract of conducting the online Nursing Assessment Test, that was required
by AMC to perform assessment during a Technical Team Competition. This competition is done once
in five years and various teams from all over the country participate in
this competition. The capability of Yaksha engine to display all varieties
of Multiple Choice Questions including coloured images in questions or
options, and its configurability to cope up varying field requirements was
the main reason to get this work.
UPTEC starts work on another Major Website in the Financial Sector Domain
UPTEC had done a major web project earlier
in the financial sector domain, using microsoft technolgies, that is running
on the site www.investorfriend.com.
This website was launched by then Lok-Sabha Speaker Mr. Manohar Joshi and
then Deputy Leader Opposition (Now Home Minister) Mr. Shivraj Patil. The
project was awarded to UPTEC by Midas Touch Investor Association as a
service to the small investors of the country. The kind of confidence this
site gave to our clients that, they had asked UPTEC to create another major
website for redressal of Grievances of Investors of this country. This time
the projects has been funded by Ministry of Company Affairs, Government Of
India. UPTEC has started work on this web-site by adopting the latest
technological tools based on DOT.NET framework.
